The Melchi Zedek Order

"For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon His shoulder."
Isaiah 9:6

Jesus is the King of Righteousness after the order of Melchizedek. Melchi means "my king" in Hebrew, and Zedek means "righteousness." This is the order of government in Jesus' kingdom. When Jesus was born as a child He wasn't walking in the maturity of this government yet. But now that the "son has been given," where Jesus fulfilled His earthly destiny as the perfect son; we too can walk IN HIM and be a part of His government. The earth has yet to see this government operating in its fullness, but I believe ours is the generation that will see this order established by those walking IN CHRIST.

The problem is that when we think "government," we naturally compare it to what see and know in the earth, and there really is NO COMPARISON with the governments of this current world and the coming government of Jesus in the order of Melchi Zedek.

First and foremost, those who reign as kings with Jesus on the earth will have resurrected bodies like Jesus. Those operating in this Melchi Zedek government will have resurrected bodies that do not die. I have written about this before in previous newsletters (Firstfruits & the Resurrection of our Body) and will not repeat it here other than to say that there have been Scriptural forerunners in resurrection including Enoch, Phinehas and Elijah. Of course, Jesus is our best and ultimate example, but it helps to know there are others who have also walked in this bodily resurrection.

Adam, before he sinned, had a body that did not die. This is where we all will end up too. It is encouraging to know that Father God will restore all of His creation back to this endless life order, but the kicker is TIMING. Some will be firstfruits and enter an endless life before others. Time is a dimension outside of our three dimensions, and therefore, these things are not easy to comprehend this side of the "time box." However, we do have glimpses, seeing through a glass darkly, that ALL will be restored and it encourages me to press into Jesus who will bring us all there eventually (2Cor.5:18-19; Eph.1:5).

Father God created all things including unseen things like time. We were created outside of time in Adam, but sin was confined to "time" which is just a bump in the road of eternity. But we have this promise through Jesus that in due time God will: "reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross" (Col. 1:20). So the key is to be in Christ, because He does the work in us when we learn to rest in Him. He is able to make us perfect when our only hope is in Him (Col. 1:28).

This perfection involves bodily perfection or resurrected bodies which function from heaven. "For our citizenship is IN HEAVEN, from which we also eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord, Jesus Christ, who will transform our lowly body that it may be conformed to His glorious body, according to the working by which He is able even to subdue all things to Himself" (Philippians 3:21). Our bodies being transformed and made like Jesus, is connected to the will of the Father to subdue all things to Himself.

Besides having resurrected bodies, the understanding that Melchi Zedek government functions outside of time is very important. Therefore, I will make some challenging statements and then offer a few references for the reader to do their own homework on this subject:

What if the speed of light is not a constant?(1) What if, when God spoke and created the universe, the speed of light was much faster at creation than it is now at 186,000 miles per second? This initially "created light" perhaps moved much faster like any natural explosion moves much faster at the initial burst and then slows down as it expands. What if our universe is expanding at the speed of light, but that speed is much slower now than it was 6,000 years ago at man's creation? This could explain the inaccuracy of radiometrically dating the earth and universe, since they assume that decay is constant. Things decay much faster as the speed of light increases. Living closer to this "instantaneous light" or "created light" may be why time was different for Adam's generation whose life spans were over 900 years. It also may explain why evolutionists think the dinosaurs were killed 60 million years ago, when maybe it was during Noah's flood only ~4,500 years ago.(2) Time is not as much a hindrance as we may think. This Melchizedek order will function outside of time and space, from heaven which created time to begin with and therefore can move in time at will.

Unlike the current governments of this earth that coerce and control subjects to their pattern of thinking, the kings and priests of the Melchisedek order will be willing to lay down their lives for those laboring with them. No one is forced to be a part of it, but rather people will WANT to be a part of this way of living, where "truth in love" is expressed and life abundant is experienced. These kings and priests will operate and legislate from heaven which is outside of time. God created time; He is outside of time and He can shorten time, bend time, and time travel! When we are IN Him, seated with Him in heavenly places, then we can do the same and that is how Melchizedek order priests govern.

Finally, after 1) having resurrected bodies, and 2) operating outside of time from heaven's perspective; the third aspect of the Melchi Zedek order (and probably the most important) is they will have the character of Jesus!

To have the true character of Jesus is better known as "sonship" which is the purpose for this website and the passion of my life for over 20 years now. Sonship is about maturity in our walk with Abba Father. To reflect His character of love as a way of life is true sonship. We can be a son to our heavenly Father because Jesus showed us the pattern. It is not about being a part of a club, a clique, a program or a church. Rather, it is being a part of HIM in real relationship: "Christ in us the hope of glory" (Col 1:27). The greatest form of relationship with HIM is as a bride, but sonship is our inheritance and practical outworking in government with HIM in the earth. Hence the Melchizedek order is really about sonship, because it details how we work with Him to bring His kingdom and His will on earth as it is in heaven.

There is a book I can recommend by Ian Clayton which gives much more detail and insight than this short newsletter on this subject of the Melchizedek order.(3) Here is a short quote from the book:

"The apostolic, governmental move that has been on the face of the earth has been busy but not always effective. Some have done a good job but others have built hierarchical structures for themselves. I believe that YHVH is inviting the Apostolic Government to embrace the maturity of son-ship, to step into the Melchizedek order as sons, forsaking the earthly image of position. The Melchizedek order functions in heaven, engages in heaven, walks in heaven, and legislates from heaven to the earth. Under the Melchizedek Government, everyone is responsible to come into full maturity, to bear an image of heaven on the earth."(3)

So you can see that sonship has nothing to do with titles and positions and the prestige of secular governments. Just the opposite, it is a call to be the greatest servant like Jesus did (Matt. 23:11). Ian's book mentions the four faces of God as being an integral part of the Melchizedek order. These four faces are 1) Lion, 2) Ox, 3) Eagle, and 4) Man, which represent different aspects of our heavenly Father's character. The lion is the king in heaven, and the ox is the priest in heaven. This Melchi Zedek order of kings and priests functions from heaven. The eagle is the "oracle;" and the man is the "legislator" which both function on the earth, but are only empowered by our king and priest roles from heaven. It is so important to be careful of the things we say (oracle) and the things we do (legislator), because this government will terraform and create things the same way God does: by speaking it into existence.

We are going back to the garden of Eden with God's original purpose for mankind. Elijah changed the weather pattern for years, and Jesus said we would do "greater things than He did." Jesus said if we have faith and do not doubt that: "you can say to this mountain, "Be removed and be cast into the sea," and it will be done" (Matt. 21:21). This was not metaphorical. This is terra-forming the earth back to its original existence of perfection before the fall. This new earth will eventually have no more sea according to Revelation 21:1.

I realize this newsletter is challenging with regard to resurrected bodies, time travel and terra-forming the earth with heaven's heart. But we need to start thinking about these types of things before they will materialize in our lives. In a world of distractions focused on death and violence or the latest virus phobia, we must have solutions with resurrection life to offer people. These God sized solutions are greater than any mind could even think! “As it is written: Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, Nor has it entered into the heart of man, the good things which God has prepared for those who love Him." (1 Corinthians 2:9)

There is so much more that could be said about this ancient order of Melchi Zedek, but let me end this newsletter with where it began, quoting a little more of the same Bible verse: "For to us a SON IS GIVEN, and the GOVERNMENT will be on His shoulders... of the increase of HIS government and peace there will be no end! To ORDER and to establish it with judgment and justice from this TIME forth, even forever." (Isa. 9:6-7)
