Worship Warfare

by Paul Jablonowski

June 12, 2011

"He (king Jehoshaphat) appointed those who should sing to the LORD, and who should praise the beauty of holiness, as they went out before the army and were saying, "Praise the LORD, For His mercy endures forever!" Now when they began to sing and to praise, the LORD set ambushes against the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir, who had come against Judah; AND THEY WERE DEFEATED." (2 Chronicles 20:21-22)

It is a common strategy of the LORD to use praise and worship to defeat His enemies. I was blessed to have participated in such a worship warfare event that took place in both Birmingham and Montgomery Alabama during The Four Horsemen of Alabama Glory Ride. I wrote about this horse ride in my last newsletter on the Feast of Unleavened Bread. This Pentecost newsletter is a continuation report for the second part of this Alabama intercession event which included the 24 hour per day praise and worship in a Tabernacle. This tabernacle (pictured here in Montgomery) contains a life sized replica of the ark of the covenant (Exodus 37:1-9), as well as several other items like the golden lampstand (menorah), banners, drums, and worship flags. There was praise and worship music playing continually and the participants were asked NOT to talk or minister to one another, but to keep the focus in worship only to the LORD.

"Our fathers had the tabernacle of witness in the wilderness, as He appointed, instructing Moses to make it according to the pattern that he had seen, which our fathers, having received it in turn, also brought with Joshua in the land possessed by the Gentiles, whom God drove out before the face of our fathers until the days of David, who found favor before God and asked to find a dwelling for the God of Jacob." (Acts 7:44-46)

This new testament scripture above shows that God still used the tabernacle after the death of Moses as an instrument of warfare to drive out His enemies from the promised land. This type of worship warfare is like the modern day "air campaign" that first arrives at the battle scene to take out the big guns in the enemy territory before sending in ground troops. This praise and worship in "the beauty of holiness" takes out spiritual principalities and rulers of the dankness of this age (see Ephesians 6:12) so that the ground troops (saints) can go in safely to get more people saved! I will explain two samples of this happening during this particular Alabama spiritual warfare campaign: First, was the protection of many people during the April 27 tornado outbreak here in Alabama. Second, was the 500 souls saved in Tel-Aviv, Israel at an evangelistic outreach right after this worship warfare.

First example - God protected many souls
Pictured here is my family on the Feast of Firstfruits (Resurrection Sunday - April 24, 2011) next to the official historical sign marking the oldest church building in Alabama. We visited this church building for the first and the last time for a Resurrection Sunday service on this particular day. The second picture is the same historical marker on April 29, 2011, because the EF-5 tornado that came through Harvest Alabama flattened this church building only three days after our visit there! My hometown of Harvest Alabama was ground zero for these tornadoes. A young girl in my son Joshua's 9th grade Biology class was killed along with her grandfather less than two miles from my house. But after seeing this devastation day after day (driving Josh to school is a constant reminder) the real miracle is the few lives that were lost compared to the amount of property damage that was done! Although the oldest church building in Alabama was destroyed, not one of the members in this church was killed. I believe God is allowing our "building programs" for Him to be taken out, but sparing His people because of His great mercy.

Second example - God saved many souls
There is a connection in both the natural and the spiritual between Alabama and Israel. I don't understand it all, but I have seen this many times while praying and interceding for God's purposes to be fulfilled in Israel. So I was very excited when I received an e-mail from Simantov & Linda Allalouf regarding an evangelistic outreach in Tel-Aviv Israel that took place just a few days after our worship warfare where 500 people were saved! These Jewish converts to Jesus were mostly from the older generation including holocaust survivors. The Alabama horseride/tabernacle worship was like the "air campaign" in this battle which took out the major principalities so that the ground troops could win. These 500 people saved in Tel Aviv is testimony that the principalities that have blinded the Jewish people for decades are coming down! Could this be the same evil principality that was working through Osama Bin Laden? Osama was reportedly killed during our worship warfare in the Tabernacle at Birmingham.

There was a very gentle spirit in this particular tabernacle of worship. The whole point of the 24/7 praise and worship is just to honor God and bless Him for His goodness, and not to try and get something from Him. One of the things I kept hearing from the LORD was His desire to make us "one" as His Bride including both male and female participants. He was bringing the north and the south together as one in Birmingham and Montgomery. The northern group of horse riders were mostly male cowboys, while the southern group of horse riders were mostly female and Indian. There was a prophetic coming together of male and female in the bride of Christ where "there is neither Jew nor Gentile, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for you are all one in Christ Jesus" (Galatians 3:28).

The greatest form of racism is not Jew and Gentile, or slave and free, but rather male and female where we discriminate against each other based upon gender. We must recognize the leadership role of women in the body of Christ! It was the women and Indian riders led by Bershet Gua who were riding INTO the tornadoes that hit Tuscaloosa Alabama on April 27, 2011. The tornadoes literally went around them as they rode and worshiped the LORD upon the Moundville Alabama Archeological Park where much evil was done in previous generations. They were reversing the curse to bring healing and blessing and the enemy did not like it! President Obama visited Tuscaloosa only a few days later and said he had never seen such tremendous devastation..

"When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the LORD your God, and you will be saved from your enemies." (Numbers 10:9)

The blowing of the shofar (ram's horn) is another form of spiritual warfare that was used during this horse prayer ride and tabernacle worship. I met a very powerful worship warfare lady named CW who I sounded the shofar with together on several different occasions throughout this campaign. Besides releasing angels to do the LORD's will on our behalf, I believe this harmonizing of shofar blowing was also symbolic of the coming together of male and female to walk together in the proper harmony in which God first created us. Intercession was made to end any possibility of a civil war within the Bride of Christ. We had communion together in the Holy Place so that this proper understanding of male and female would be set correctly on earth as it is in heaven. "North" in the scriptures is often symbolic of ruling in justice and righteousness which is the Father's (male's) main responsibility in a family. "South" is symbolic for the blessing/mercy and nurturing of a mother (female) in the family. We need both working together!

The greatest days for the Bride body of Christ are just ahead! At the same time there is great darkness, there will also be great light, and the light of Christ will always outshine the darkness. This worship warfare is pressing into the Kingdom of God, which at the same time pushes out the evil principalities that have ruled the earth for six millennium. The result will be millions of people being harvested into the Kingdom of God, because the enemy cannot blind them anymore. The gray areas between darkness and light are being pressed out, and people must choose who they will serve.

"Now therefore, fear the LORD (Yahweh), serve Him in sincerity and in truth, and put away the gods which your fathers served on the other side of the River and in Egypt. Serve the LORD! And if it seems evil to you to serve Yahweh, choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the Euphrates, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you dwell. But as for me and my house, we will serve Yahweh!" (Joshua 24:14-15)
